Dental

West Wimmera Health Service operates a dental clinic for both children and adults, offering cleaning, general check-ups and root canal.

Appointments are available Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9am to 4pm.

​

The service is provided by Dr Hugo Hancock, who travels weekly from Horsham to provide quality dentistry to people in our communities closer to home.

No referral is required.

Cost

We offer dental services as part of Victoria's public dental care, which means eligible people can get access to dental care at a subsidised rate. More information about eligibility and subsidised rates is outlined below. If you don't meet the criteria for a subsidised rate, please contact our dental reception for a quote.

Adults

You are eligible for public dental services if you:

If you meet the above eligibility criteria, you will pay $31 per visit. How much you pay depends on your dental problem, but the most you will need to pay for general dental care is $124.

Children and young people

You are eligible for public dental services if you:

  • live in Victoria and

  • are aged 0-12 years of age, irrespective of family income or

  • are aged between 0–17 and are eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule or

  • are aged between 13-17 with a Health Care card or Pension Card or whose parents hold a Health Care card or Pension Card or

  • are a youth justice client in custodial care, regardless of age, or

  • are aged up to 18 years of age and are in out-of-home care, provided by the Children Youth and Families Division of the Department of Human Services

General dental care for children aged 0-12 years is free if you or your parent hold a Concession card or if you are eligible for Child Dental Benefit Schedule.

​

If you or your parents do not hold a Concession card you will pay $37 per visit. How much you pay depends on your dental problem, but the most your family will need to pay for your general dental care is $148.
