NDIS
West Wimmera Health Service is a registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider. Services under this program are aimed at those younger than 65 years old who have disability or early intervention needs.
We are dedicated to providing comprehensive support to individuals in our community living with physical, intellectual, or mental health disabilities.

Our primary goal is to empower each participant to achieve positive outcomes tailored to their needs through our programs and activities that are designed to align with the specific interests and aspirations of each individual client. We accomplish this by fostering personal development, promoting active participation in community activities, and offering supported employment opportunities.

Community Access - Individual - personalised one to one community outings tailored to suit each individual participant and their interests. This may include going to appointments, shopping, concerts or community events.
Early Childhood Intervention Services - assistance and support to help you and your child work towards their goals in relation to communication, learning, development, behaviour, function and movement, etc. This may be done through play and activities in your daily life. Our therapists are able to visit you in your home to support your family.

Home support - assistance with daily tasks such as cleaning, meal preparation, medication support, shopping & transport.
NDIS Group Activities - assistance for participants to engage in community, social or recreational activities and be empowered to develop social skills and confidence. This includes a range of individual or group activities suited to your personal interest or hobbies, such as:

Skills Development - education and training to develop a range of personal skills to support you to live independently, including:

Transport - assistance with transportation to appointments, social activities, and usual outings.

Allied and Therapy Services​
​​
Continence Nursing - for managing incontinence (bladder or bowel control problems) with aids and education including support for toilet training in children and youth.
Dietetics - for assistance with food and nutrition to help treat medical and health issues such as malnutrition, diabetes, heart diseases, cancers, gastrointestinal disease, food allergies and intolerances, fussy eating, disordered eating and weight management.
Occupational Therapy - for help with everyday activities you find difficult which may be due to illness, accident, emotional regulation difficulties, learning or development difficulties or ageing and includes home based assessments, equipment prescription, home modification advice, school visits and education and support groups.
Physiotherapy & Exercise Physiology - for assistance with any human movement or balance problems & rehabilitation including joint & muscle pain, paediatric care, walking aids, neurological conditions, cardiac and surgery rehabilitation, exercise programs, falls and balance programs and hydrotherapy.
Podiatry - for all foot-related health including nail care, care of children's feet, construction of orthotic aids, ingrown toenails and nail surgery, diabetes foot health, wound care management, occupational foot health and footwear advice.
Social Work - for advocacy, counselling and management of stress, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and help accessing services and supports they need.
Speech Pathology - for managing language, speech, stuttering, fluency, swallowing, feeding and chewing.
How to access
​To check your eligibility for the NDIS and start the application process, call the NDIS on 1800 800 110. They will refer you to an NDIS local area coordinator or early childhood partner in your area to assist in completing the application process.
Cost
It's important to note that our NDIS services are funded through your NDIS plan. If you currently do not have an NDIS plan, we are readily available to provide guidance on the application process and determine your eligibility for NDIS support.
