Post birth care

Congratulations on becoming a new parent! Our midwives are here to support you and your newborn baby as you transition to life at home, recovering from birth and caring for your baby.

Our services are offered to parents and children living in the local areas of Nhill, Dimboola, Rainbow and Jeparit. Local Shire Councils manage Maternal and Child Health programs for people living in other towns within our catchment.

What we offer

After your baby is born, a midwife from your local area will visit your home to check in on you and your baby. They will monitor your baby's growth and can help you with things like breastfeeding and feeding your child; sleep and settling; being a parent and looking after yourself and your wellbeing.

How to access

Our midwives are notified by the birth hospital of your baby’s birth. They will call you to arrange a convenient time to visit you and your baby in your home.

Cost

The service is free for all Victorian families.
