Transport Accident Commission (TAC)
The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) is an insurance scheme owned by the Victorian Government that provides support and compensation to people that are injured on our roads in a transport-related accident.

West Wimmera Health Service (WWHS) is a registered in-home care provider for the TAC and can provide medical care and rehabilitation to help people recover from their injuries, or if the injury is significant, permanent and ongoing we can provide a variety of supports to help you achieve your independence goals.
By offering a range of community care options, WWHS strives to empower individuals to live the life they want while accessing the support they need.
What we offer
​We can support people recovering from a transport accident or living with a disability incurred from a transport accident with services such as:​

Allied Health and Therapy Services - allied health services provided by professionals such as a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech pathologist, podiatrist, dietitian, exercise physiologist, and social worker. This also includes hydrotherapy.

Community and Social Support - assistance to undertake community activities, including transport to appointments, social events and activities and usual outings.

Community Nursing - in-home nursing care and on-call support.

Domestic Assistance - assistance with household tasks such as cleaning, cooking, laundry and shopping.

Personal care - assistance with daily living and self-care tasks like eating, bathing, dressing and medication.

Respite - support services designed to provide temporary relief and support for caregivers.

We also assist with the coordination, care planning, implementation and provision of support.

Services can be provided on a regular or as needed basis during the day, afternoon, overnight and 24 hours a day 7 days a week or in an on-call support capacity.​​​​​
How to access
To access TAC funded services, people who have been injured in a transport-related accident should make a TAC claim by calling the TAC on 1300 654 329 or visiting their website www.tac.vic.gov.au and completing an online lodgment form.

Cost
The TAC will fully fund services approved under each individual TAC claim therefore the only costs to clients would be for services that are not covered under their claim.
